New Task Order: Monitoring the Spread of Multi-drug Resistant Plasmodium Species in Central VietnamVysnova will support NAMRU-2 to fulfill the goals and objectives of the research project “Monitoring the Spread of Multi-drug Resistant Plasmodium Species in Central Vietnam”. The primary, overarching objective of this project is to continue and expand existing infectious disease surveillance networks for both military and civilian populations in order to identify and record symptoms and outcomes of malaria among patients in Vietnam. NAMRU-2’s infectious disease surveillance system enables rapid and accurate identification of pathogens and vectors that may pose a threat to the Vietnamese people and locally deployed Armed Forces, or in a worst-case scenario, develop risk of drug resistant malaria spread to people around the world.
