September 5th is the International Day of Charity and we at Vysnova Partners firmly believe in giving back to our community and to reputable charities that make a difference. Here are a couple of charities that we have supported in hopes that you too will do the same.
On Christmas morning (2020), Vysnova team members, armed with gifts donated by Vysnova Partners, headed to the Veterans’ Retirement Home and Hospital in Washington, DC to brighten the holiday for those who dedicated their lives in service to this great nation. As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Vysnova and its team felt particularly honored to assist these worthy veterans in celebrating the holiday. In addition to the modest gifts shared with these heroes, Vysnova and a collection of other dedicated volunteers traveled from room to room providing their best version of caroling. The morning was filled with song, laughter, stories of the veterans’ hay days, and some happy tears as the residents expressed how much they appreciated being remembered on this holiday. Vysnova is keenly aware of its mission and proud of its SDVOSB status and this event served as a means to reflect, celebrate, and honor the most worthy of recipients.
Vysnova Partners has also donated a plethora of food for a Thanksgiving drive at Community Family Life Services, a nonprofit in Washington DC that assists with societal reentry for women who have been incarcerated, and provides resources to DC residents to combat homelessness and poverty.
Since 1969, Community Family Life Services, Inc. (CFLS) has provided children, families, and adults with the tools and resources needed to move beyond poverty and homelessness. CFLS also supports women who are returning home following a period of incarceration by assisting them as they move into permanent self-sufficiency. To volunteer please click here.
We Rock Cancer (WRC) is a veteran-founded and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity that harnesses the power of music and health care partnerships to enable the early detection of skin cancer. Early detection substantially increases the survivability of skin cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, metastasized melanoma has a survivability rate of 27%, but when diagnosed early, 99% of people recover. Your tax-deductible donation makes it possible for us to provide free professional skin cancer screenings to at-risk and underserved individuals “where they are” at concerts, music festivals, athletic events, and outdoor occupational settings. As part of the social responsibility culture at Vysnova, Mr. Rivera (CEO of Vysnova Partners) is also very involved in the community as a Board Member of the National Veteran Institute for Procurement and has participated as a presenter at the Montgomery County Chamber’s Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) International industry CEO panel discussion. He sees these engagements as the perfect opportunity to give back to the community and help others succeed with their business goals. As a fellow veteran business owner, he understands the challenges and obstacles that the participants face as they work to start and grow their businesses.
