Case Study: Vysnova Supports NAMRU 2 Research

Program Purpose:

The purpose of the program is to support NAMRU-2 (Navy Medical Unit 2 (NAMRU 2) Southeast Asia Biosurveillance and Epidemiology Research (SABER) II to improve disease surveillance activities, evaluate novel diagnostics products and therapeutic interventions, test disease control strategies, and develop local expertise via training to detect and respond to emergent disease threats. Working together, under SABER II, we can understand and combat infectious diseases and vector-borne illnesses including Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya as well as the burden and distribution of Swine Flu, Bird Flu, SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV, and other emerging infectious diseases.

Vysnova’s Work:

Vysnova provides the program management and administrative work to support NAMRU-2 in conducting biomedical, epidemiological, and clinical research efforts including human subjects and animal use research projects around Southeast Asia with extension to East and South Asia countries.

Vysnova provides contracting services, project management, and staffing including SMEs (e.g., Biostatisticians, Malaria experts, Epidemiologists, etc.) to support the ongoing development, performance, and management of NAMRU-2 research and in collaboration with host-country partners across Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

The Vysnova Impact:

The support of Vysnova helps improve NAMRU-2 research productivity in the region. It also helps relieve NAMRU-2 scientists from program management, administrative and contractual burdens so they can focus more on the scientific aspects. With Vysnova’ s support, NAMRU-2 will be able to extend its research in infectious diseases and emerging diseases in the region in the future. Vysnova’s coordination results in a smooth transition between the client’s project officers to ensure FAR compliance as well as the host country’s rules and regulations.
